Entry requirements in Thailand for British people

Entry requirements in Thailand for British people

The UK government’s understanding of current rules for people travelling on a full ‘British Citizen’ passport, for the most common types of travel.

The Thai authorities set and enforce entry rules. For further information contact their embassy, high commission or consulate.

You may also check with your transport provider or travel company to make sure your passport and other travel documents meet their requirements.

When you arrive – Foreigners arriving in Thailand will be tested for COVID-19 on entry and again during quarantine. You can find more information on quarantine processes in the Coronavirus section.

Travelling with children – Children can enter Thailand under the same scheme as their parents. You may be separated from your children if they test positive for COVID-19. If this happens and you need help, you can call the Embassy on +66 (0)2 305 8333. For further information on healthcare in Thailand, please see the Coronavirus section.

If you’re fully vaccinated – Fully vaccinated people can enter Thailand under the Phuket Sandbox and Alternative Quarantine schemes – see Entry section above. You must take a PCR test before you leave the UK and when you arrive in Thailand. Policies on what happens when you test positive during quarantine vary significantly. You should ensure that you fully understand your quarantine provider’s policies on this before you book.
